auto repair shop
as a automotive repair shop owner, people cannot afford to get their cars repaired so they go in debt to get a running vehicle from these buy here pay here lots without realizing the cost of interest and the value of the vehicle they are buying. I have cut my hourly rates, financed repairs (with no interest) and I am going to go out of business if the economy doesn’t change. I’m here to help people who are in a bind and our government is not helping at all… nobody built my business for me, and I have asked the government for nothing, but I continue to pay my taxes or they will shut me down. I am a 2 bay shop and cannot afford to hire help. if good a business man is to not finance repairs, and not work for next to nothing, then I guess I will starve to death just like many more AMERICANS in this country…
“Business is impacted by government action and inaction; we’ve had enough inaction. That is why many business owners are so fearful about the potential fallout from the fiscal cliff. It could send an already fragile economy spiraling back into recession. When Congress gets tangled up in political showmanship, it sends the wrong message throughout the economy. Let Congress and the President act and American business will take it from there — creating jobs and restoring prosperity.”
“As a small business owner who has to manage finances every day, I understand the importance of keeping one’s fiscal house in order. Businesses can’t prosper when they are facing overwhelming debts. It’s a simple premise: never borrow more than you can pay back. And the nation must abide by those same basic rules if it wants to remain prosperous. As a mother of two children, I am gravely concerned about the future they will inherit. We have both a moral and financial obligation to Fix the Debt.”

“It’s a real fiscal issue — businesses are holding back cash right now because ‘investment hates uncertainty’. As soon as that uncertainty is resolved we’ll see the economy kick in again. We’re telling them to put aside partisanship and go at this objectively because of the economic welfare of the country — politics has to move aside.”
At the Fix the Debt press conference today in Washington, DC, small business owner Wanda Rohm shared from her experience as founder and former owner of Presto Printing in San Antonio, Texas:
“Small business owners understand the current challenges — they want to give employees benefits and get new equipment, but they know what you can and can’t afford. Likewise, government needs to learn what it can and can’t afford. Great empires have fallen. Fortunately, the threat is coming from the inside of the United States, so it’s things that we can control and change, because it’s coming from within, not from without.”

“Already businesses like mine are feeling the effects of the uncertainty over whether Congress and the White House will be able to strike a budget deal before January. I’m not going to hire new workers if I can’t be certain that I can give them a paycheck. I see the debt’s effect on businesses and local government everyday as a County Commissioner and a small business owner.”
8 Things About The Economy That Scare Small Business
Thinking about the economy has small business owners worried. Author Gene Marks says: “I kid, but despite the downsides, I advise small business owners who are seeking happiness to visit Disney for a day. Don’t expect to be scared though….unless you start thinking hard about the economy.” Click the title to read the article.
